Saturday was SO's cousin Mm's baby shower. She got some really cute stuff. Funny, the family didn't know she was pregnant till we got the invites to her shower, she's due next month! Part of this is because she has had a few miscarriages and was scared to tell everyone then lose the baby again so.

I got breakfast made for me on mother's day by SO and K. C had stayed over at my parents' the night before which was kind of nice because it got me some one on one time with the little guy.

Sunday was a total fiasco. K's baptism.

He almost didn't get baptised because the deacon didn't have his paperwork? He started up stuff for the other two babies there and completely passed over K. So my mom pipes up "Excuse me you forgot this boy" and the guy replied "I have no information for this child" really rude-like. He must have realized how rude he sounded so he asked us to wait until the christening for the two other babies was over and he'd do K then. Asked us to go to the rectory and find the priest to see if he had anything. Couldn't find him anywhere. Checked the rectory, the office, the hall..

So then. After the other two kids get baptised the deacon asks SO and I to go to the office with him and shuffles through paperwork but can't find ours anywhere. Asks us where we got married etc. Finds our marriage document and suddenly everything is peachy keen. He makes us re-fill out forms and then apologises profusely on behalf of the parish, yadda yadda.

We get back in the church to find out that HE HAD HIS MICROPHONE ON THE WHOLE TIME and everyone has heard everything he's said. It was pretty funny actually and he was rather embarrassed. After that it was smooth sailing and we got K baptised. But whooboy. What a mess. It took three of us to hold K down for the water part and he kept going from person to person during the ceremony but otherwise he was pretty well behaved all things considering it was a good day.

The lady who handles the documents called yesterday while I was at work and was extremely apologetic hoping there was no hard feelings etc.

It's a good thing I'm laid back about these things.
