Yay it's Hump Day! Two more days till the weekend!

Got wds & r0's official wedding invite in the mail yesterday. Yay!

Memo to self:

-C's bday thing
-Pkgs for 1, 2, 3, and d.
-27 thing throw away

Since I'm sure you are all *dying* to know,

The Dante's Inferno Test has banished you to the Second Level of Hell!
Here is how you matched up against all the levels:
Purgatory (Repenting Believers)Low
Level 1 - Limbo (Virtuous Non-Believers)Very Low
Level 2 (Lustful)Very High
Level 3 (Gluttonous)High
Level 4 (Prodigal and Avaricious)Low
Level 5 (Wrathful and Gloomy)High
Level 6 - The City of Dis (Heretics)Very Low
Level 7 (Violent)Very High
Level 8- the Malebolge (Fraudulent, Malicious, Panderers)Very High
Level 9 - Cocytus (Treacherous)Moderate

Take the Dante's Inferno Hell Test

"You have come to a place mute of all light, where the wind bellows as the sea does in a tempest. This is the realm where the lustful spend eternity. Here, sinners are blown around endlessly by the unforgiving winds of unquenchable desire as punishment for their transgressions. The infernal hurricane that never rests hurtles the spirits onward in its rapine, whirling them round, and smiting, it molests them. You have betrayed reason at the behest of your appetite for pleasure, and so here you are doomed to remain. Cleopatra and Helen of Troy are two that share in your fate."

I scored high on the lower levels because of the whole fortune tellers bit. sheesh. Could be worse, I could be in Cocytus...

Let the sunnnnn shinnnnne innnn!

MMM. Is there anything yummier than a bowl full of fresh pineapple, I ask you? Today the answer is No. No there is not.

And I don't mean that crap that comes from a can, either. I mean real pineapple.

God I love summer. Fruit! *drool*

I've been playing some Heretic II lately. Mmmmm killing monsters...

Speaking of monsters, my son is on this whole "Monsters, Inc." kick lately. Maybe it's because he's a little monster in training himself ;)

Had fucked up dream that I don't even want to start to try and go through right now. It's really, really bizarre.

Anyway. My sis-in-law's ex showed up at my door yesterday and stayed a while to chat. I've always liked the guy so it was a nice visit. But still a bit odd because of the circumstances surrounding their final break-up. (I say final because there have been so damn many. TRUE)

So yeah. Except. I wanted to go to sleep early. But that obviously didn't happen and now I'm pretty darn groggy.

Finally set up date for K's baptism (please don't go into the "whatt? he's almost 3 and not baptized yet?" thing. Because honestly, I'm not going to tell you why I waited so long). It's on Mother's Day. So. Yeah.

The flue is winning the damn battle.

The flu is winning the battle. Woke up with a nose full of goo and scratchy throat and light-headed feeling. Brarewah;oiwerjwaer. Don't wanna.

I missed Lucky last night because I passed out too early. Damnit. Did anyone else watch? Was it any good?

Also discovered that my bmo money transfer service is only good in Canada, which messed up something I was going to do. Pah. Hate banks. Hate money. *snarlgrarl*

Time to crawl my sorry sick ass to work. Good day y'all.

What Kind of FLIRT are you?
brought to you by Quizilla

I feel kind of cruddy today. I feel like I need about eleventy billion hours of sleep.

Easter was ok. Dinner at SO's parents' home. Took a bit of a nap. I still feel cruddy.

Work is going to be a madhouse. I just know it.

no sleep

Posted by Slowplum on 4/20/2003 07:17:00 AM
Both the kids didn't sleep well last night. I know this because I was awake for most of the night. I don't think I've ever slept well the Saturday before Easter. I'm not sure why. I just haven't. So I'm sort of feeling like a zombie this morning.

Where did the idea of an "Easter Bunny" come from? I thought I knew once, in fact I am sure I dug it up but I cannot recall now. Everything is becoming a blur. I think I may be getting stupider or something, or maybe it's just stress rotting my mind. Probably that last bit.

Time to wake the kids. Be well, everyone. Happy Easter.

Party was success! Many people came and ate and drank and were merry. Saw some good folks I haven't seen in a while. SO was v. happy with it all.

Now I can relaaaaaaaaax again. At least, until the next event. Which is May 4. THen May 16. Then May 31.

Ok! Time for breakfast. Bunch of friends all going out for it. Need. Greasy. Food.

...why is it that after a night of drinking, greasy evil wretched food always seems like a great idea? What is it about it?

Bad Friday (bwaha)

Posted by Slowplum on 4/18/2003 03:39:00 PM
So today, Good Friday, is SO's birthday. Everything is set.

Apparently I'm going straight to hell though because I am serving my guests meat. I don't recall learning the hows and whys so could someone fill me in on why this is a bad thing again?

What the hell people

Posted by Slowplum on 4/17/2003 06:45:00 AM
It was twenty-seven degrees out on Tuesday. Today? FREEZING RAIN! *cry*

I have too much stuff to do today to have to put up with this nonsense. *snarl*

K's chicken pox are finally going away. Finally. Poor little guy.

Life is getting pretty overwhelming. I've suddenly found out my parachute was actually a knapsack, if you dig my meaning.

Sometimes I think if I didn't have SO, I'd go crazy. When people ask me why I am going through all this trouble for a party for him, I can't even begin to explain, and the fact that I even have to explain makes it so not worth explaining to them.

Posted by Slowplum on 4/16/2003 05:59:00 PM
I really, really hate life right now.

kickety kick

Posted by Slowplum on 4/16/2003 05:41:00 PM
Life has been kicking me in the ass lately, not necessarily in a bad sort of way, I've just been extremely busy. Especially at work. But also: it is SO's birthday on Friday. I still have tons to do for that.

Also. My cousin VP sucks nads and messed up the family gathering thing. So to compensate she is contacting everyone and finding the new date but it will still be at same venue.

Today is the walk for MS. I hope the weather's nice.

One of the things I miss most about working all the time is that I can't put my son down for a nap. We had this routine. He'd grab his blankie and his stuffed toy and we'd go up to his room. He'd lie down, I'd cover him up, and rub his back and hum softly to him until he fell asleep. It was soothing for both of us.

Because he was sick today and I stayed home with him, I got to do that.

chicken pox redux

Posted by Slowplum on 4/11/2003 07:34:00 AM
So guess who has the chicken pox now?

I'm staying home today to care for him. My boss didn't sound too thrilled but what can ya do? The babysitter is watching a couple of kids that haven't had it before and doesn't want to expose them without consulting the parents. Fair enough.

Time to go give someone an oatmeal bath. Oh the joys of mommyhood.

Wish I could go back to bed.

Posted by Slowplum on 4/09/2003 07:01:00 AM
So yesterday was a day from hell. No really.

I think it all started when I slept in a little. It wasn't enough to cause *too* much of a panic, but certainly enough to offset my day. I really hate that.

So I got to work and I went to go buy myself a tea in the caf when I realized (dun dun dun DUNNNN) I couldn't find my wallet. Fifteen minute search of everywhere confirmed, wallet was missing. I call home. Sure enough, wallet was sitting nicely on the loveseat, waiting for me to remember it. *sigh*

So fine. I remembered I had some emergency tea bags in my drawer. I bit the bullet and used the kitchenette kettle with the lime deposit from hell inside of it and had some tea.

Then I spent two hours in a meeting defending myself because my boss tried to pin blame on me for the $50,000 fuckup of someone else. I only wish I were kidding. I was so upset I ended up running to the bathroom after the meeting and throwing up the meagre contents of my stomach (tea and a half piece of toast I'd gulped down at home).

During the two hours of my meeting, of course work piled up because both my boss and I were in the meeting and nobody else was around to do all that customs paperwork. So guess who had to scramble to get things done? No less than 10 angry messages from people wondering where their commercial invoices were. I felt wretched and wrung out and cried through most of it because I have been under so much stress lately and don't need this shit.

Then I get a call from SO saying "the gas company phoned you have to call this number" so I do and they tell me my account is in arrears and they will cut off the gas if I don't cough up $520 in the next two days. Fuuuuuuck. I scramble in my head to try and figure out how I could possibly have messed up a gas bill. Come up blank and then realize, ohhh fuck. That's right. I messed up accounts. See, we pay Union Gas for gas and Union Energy for other stuff. I ended up paying Union Energy (which is normally only $30) instead of Union Gas (normally $250) the past two months, so now Union Energy is payed up for like, the next hundred years and Union Gass is flipping out. I end up rushing to bathroom and wretching again. Tired and strung out and sort of hungry but really not so hungry.

Which is good because, I forgot my wallet at home. So I'm broke and can't even afford flipping crackers ($0.25 a pack! cripes. I can't even afford a quarter!) and I'm tired and I just want to go home at this point but noooo. Then I spend 45 minutes arguing with one of our production control guys that no, they cannot be lazy and yes, they do have to fill out bills of lading for all five promo t-shirt sets going to five different companies. "whyyyy?" I nearly threw the phone.

So then I left work a 1/2 hr early (which I will surely hear about and pay for today) and on my way home I took the back roads so I wouldn't have to deal with crap traffic. I ended up hitting a SKUNK. Then a big rig almost ran me over! I pulled over and just sat in the car for a few minutes and let the rig pass me. It almost hit an oncoming car trying to pass two other cars. I fucking hate trucks.

I get home and SO takes one look at my face and gives me a hug. I tell him what happened and then sink to the floor and start crying. All he said was, "Go take a bath."

When I wouldn't move he pulled me up and took me to the bathroom and drew me a bath. Then he brought me a tea and a book and shut the door and told the kids they were to leave me alone.
Then he ordered pizza and told me to eat. We had a picnic on the living room floor. Gave the kids a bath and then we all had quiet time before the kids went to bed.

Then my mom called and told me she has to have a full hysterectomy and that they found more cysts and things in her uterus and they'd also have to operate on her bladder a little. And my grandma has to start seeing a psychologist because the insurance company of the family who crashed into her car two winters ago is refusing to believe she has suffered from post-traumatic stress (on top of the months and months of painful therapy it took to get her to, you know, WALK AGAIN) and won't pay up her insurance company. Even though their 17 year old daughter ran through a stop sign. Into her car. In mid-winter. On icy roads. She didn't even try to stop. Just ran right through. Wasn't paying attention.

Anyway. After all that, it was time for bed.

How was your day?

Posted by Slowplum on 4/08/2003 07:12:00 AM
Yesterday was my mother-in-law's birthday. I bought her popcorn some kleenex some bottled water and the movie "Maid In Manhattan". It makes me cringe to even type the title out but it is the type of movie she goes gaa-gaa over. So needless to say she loved the present.

It was also terribly stormy yesterday until late in the evening. Yeck.

Sent out packages to my cousins yesterday for a family gathering... of sorts...

I feel drained. I've been fighting off this flu for quite some time now and it is slowly winning me over.

Posted by Slowplum on 4/05/2003 08:42:00 PM
And now I'm going to go throw on a depressing movie and cry into my veggies.

Posted by Slowplum on 4/05/2003 07:43:00 PM

My parents decided to put the cats under today. Both of them.

Pooh was *my* cat, until I got pregnant with C. Then my parents took over because I couldn't handle his litterbox etc. And when we bought the house Pooh just sort of stayed with my parents.

He would have been 11 this year.

His counterpart, Minoux, was R's cat. She would have been 7. They were both getting sick though.

Our parents didn't tell either of us. They just went to the vet's today and did it. And then told us. R is beside himself. I am upset too.

I wish they would have told us. :/

Posted by Slowplum on 4/05/2003 07:16:00 AM
Woke up with a nosebleed. The air in this house must be really dry.

I think we may have a ghost. Someone keeps rearranging the wine glasses in my china cabinet. It isn't me, or SO, or the kids, because this usually happens while we are all at work/school/babysitter. Or maybe it's just the china cabinet that's haunted!! Oooooooo. Or maybe someone is breaking into our house just to rearrange our glasses and then leaving. Riiiiight.

So my cousin CP is a dork and thinks it would be more fun to go to her boyfriend's prom than to come hang with us and drink and stuff. Phooey on that!

Memo to self: send packages this week. Don't forget the wink wink for you know who.

It's freezing rain outside. Lovely weather. *grumble*

Today is also A's birthday, here's hoping he has a good one.

Went over to S's last night to gab. She had a messed up encounter with RV over the weekend. We also talked about recent HR things and how stressful our jobs are right now. And talked about nothing things, just more or less enjoyed each other's company.

Considering playing Baldur's Gate again, but figuring meh, I'll just get bored with it quickly and uninstall it a few days later.

I need a new game. Suggestions?

Posted by Slowplum on 4/01/2003 05:54:00 PM
So (needless to say from observing initial post) I had crappy day at work. Issues with people and decided to rant here. I did confront them about it though. So hopefully issues are resolved.

For fuck's sake.

I wish people would get their facts straight before jumping to conclusions. Christ.

Posted by Slowplum on 4/01/2003 06:36:00 AM

MORE of it came last night while I was sleeping.

C is getting cranky and irritable because of the pox. K is getting cranky and irritable because C is getting more attention than him. I'm getting cranky and irritable because of my job and life in general.

But hey, party for SO coming up! Also throwing a fantasia party in May.

I will use it like a mantra in these dark days. "Party soon. Party soon. Party soon." And I'll forget about the fact that these two events will likely stress me out, 50's housewife stylee. :p

Half-assed helped my sister in law with her school project last night. She's in television and radio communications, so of course they had to make a website (...)

Yeah. That's what I thought. So she decided to go the way of tri-pod easy pagemaker. Found it wasn't all that easy. Cried and gnashed her teeth when things wouldn't go where she wanted them to &etc. Overall the page isn't that bad... Sorta...

At the very least she got it done by last night's midnight deadline. Nevermind the fact that she used *my* computer while I used SO's dinosaur that took a bajillion years to load anything and in general locked down when I tried to, you know, blink. So if people were messaging me and I wasn't responding? Yeah. That's why. I don't mind that she used mine, if she'd have used SO's woulda taken longer. yeah.

Fucking hair. Need to dye soon. Stupid roots.
