The Earliest Memory you have.
Meeting my brother the day he came home from the hospital. I was two-ish.
The first time you went to school.
Uhm... at the same age everyone else goes to kindergarten. We didn't have JK back then, and daycare was something only elite kids went to.
The first time you learnt something new.
Probably the first time I learned to eat. Which would have been what, 1, 2 days old tops?
The first time you fell in love .
I was 9 and fell in love with a boy named Raymond. Since then I've probably fallen in love eleventy bajillion times.
The first time you went on a date.
What the hell's a date? Haha no really, I cannot remember my first date. Must have been something pretty terrific! [/sarcasm]
The first time you were scolded.
The first time I remember being scolded was the time I cut off all of my cousin L's hair when I was playing hairdresser.
The first time you felt as if you made a mistake.
Too many mistakes, can't calculate the first. I'm not one to regret things so maybe that's why I can't think this one through.
The first time you kept a secret from your parents.
I've kept too many to remember the first.
The first part-time job.
Working at a textile factory packaging socks.
How did you spend your first earnings?
On a dress I had really, really wanted.
The first time you bought clothes for yourself.
I was 14 years old.
The first time you put on make-up.
Twelve, at my mother's insistence.
The first time you changed the colour of your hair.
14 years old, and I've been doing it ever since.
The first time you cooked.
Ten years old, my first cooked meal was roast beef & potatoes & corn.
The first time you felt kindness.
Probably the time my brother and I had come home from school and couldn't get in the house, mom & dad were nowhere to be seen (dad was late from work) and the neighbor across the street took us in from the cold (-20 weather) and kept us warm until one of them came home.
The first time you felt like committing suicide.
Oh come on what kind of a first time is that? When you are a teenager you think about it twenty million times at least. Oh angst! I honestly don't know how to answer this one.
The first time you experienced bereavement.
When I was fourteen, a boy in my class died of heart failure. I believe that's the first time I understood what grief was.
The first time you fought with someone.
I was around 2 and my brother had a spectacular fight involving throwing pudding at each other.
The first time you drank alcohol.
I was two and my parents had had a gathering for my birthday and I kept sipping the bottom of people's drinks when they weren't paying attention because it tasted sweet. Later that night apparently I screamed and got sick all over and kept having nightmares about spiders or somesuch.
The first time you tried smoking.
Eighteen. I was bored and it was something to do.
The first time you felt glad you were born.
I think the moment of my birth. Think about it. I bet babies are really really glad they are born and out of that confined space!
The first time you felt like you had aged.
Probably the first time I muttered something about how awful kids these days are... ahahhaa
The first time you wanted someone so badly it hurt.
I've never wanted anyone THAT badly.
