that is all.

i'm starting to feel much better, thank you for all the well wishing. the belly button is still causing me concern, but i'm sure the surgeon will just tell me i'm being paranoid etc.

i get tired and achey really quickly as well, and lying down isn't comfortable unless i have thirty bajillion pillows around me. i stopped taking the pain meds 3 days after the operation because they made me sluggish and a lovely variety of other things. the pain is liveable, i have a pretty high threshold, it's just the quick tiredness that gets me.

fortunately i have two more weeks to get my act together.

i had a dream about work last night that warped somehow into taking some german people to a local italian restaurant but the people were actually time travelling monsters that sucked people out of their current lives and displaced them. there was this one old man that kept telling me "see, i told you we should have gone to the pub" and the old woman beside him said "but dear they have free ice cream here!"

yeah. that's what i thought too.

ok off to do stuff or probably just go back to sleep.

On the way to the hospital now. Sooooo nervous. Gah.

It's kind of like stage fright except not.

insomnia strikes again, sort of

Posted by Slowplum on 1/20/2005 03:54:00 AM
i've been up since 2 am. i can't sleep and keep hearing noises and K was coughing his brains out the poor lamb so i gave him some medicine (was running a fever too, eep) and sent him to bed then just lay there in bed wide awake hearing noises. so i came downstairs and surfed a while and i'm wide awake but also freakin' exhausted... *sigh*

don't want to go into work today there are too many loose ends to tie up so here's hoping it all gets done without any major issues.

maybe i'm just nervous or something.

i don't know.

Heh, 2 years older?

Eeeeep I go to the doctor today for a physical & history, which I find more daunting than the surgery itself. I hate this whole process, it just keeps reminding me that I am deliberately doing this to myself. Mind you I'd much rather have some say in the whole thing rather than have it spring up on me in the future and have that say taken away from me. Oh well. On to the thing with the stuff:

You Are 30 Years Old

30

Under 12: You are a kid at heart. You still have an optimistic life view - and you look at the world with awe.

13-19: You are a teenager at heart. You question authority and are still trying to find your place in this world.

20-29: You are a twentysomething at heart. You feel excited about what's to come... love, work, and new experiences.

30-39: You are a thirtysomething at heart. You've had a taste of success and true love, but you want more!

40+: You are a mature adult. You've been through most of the ups and downs of life already. Now you get to sit back and relax.

surgery this friday, i'm starting to get nervous

the training of the girl doing my job while i'm off is ok

got ANOTHER phone call from C's teacher; am beginning to think C is her least favorite student (there is proof of this thought but i don't particulary wish to articulate it)

doctor's appointment today, last one of a chain of many many appointments pre-surgery

the year in review.

my year-in-review. (gakked from [info]chrystalm)

Post the first sentence of the first entry for each month in 2004.

January: went over to a friends house last night, they have four little boys so my kids had someone to play with and we all sat and ate and laughed and whatever.

February: So last weekend I went to see L.

March: So I went to see my doctor today about that whole "leaking colostrum when I'm not even pregnant and especially during my cycle and by the way it's sometimes green" thing.

April: awesome april fool's day page (had a link to homestar runner's site)

May: Have to go to a party celebrating not one, but TWO first communions... bleh.

June: Tonight was C's first game.

July: So Marlon Brando expired today.

August: went to Barrie over the weekend to visit family, it was a good visit, but traffic was HELL ON EARTH

blarrrr

and I had to work the holiday Monday.

September: i always thought that there'd be lots to talk about
but i never see you and i still look when i go out...

October: so the weekend with the girls up in pike bay was great and much needed and fun.

November: right here is why. (had a link to a site with a picture)

December: Little noses pressed against the glass and gleeful "SNOW SNOW SNOW MOMMMMMMM SNOWWWWWW!" was all I heard when the kids got up and then a squeal of "SANTA IS COMING SOON KNOW HOW I KNOW HUH HUH BECAUSE THE CHOCOLATE. CALENDARS. HAVE. STARTED!" and stomps with every word to emphasize.

AND L IS COMING TO VISIT!!!!!111oneoneone

I'm so happy! I really hope the weather is ok.

And also I am wondering how the dress hunting went for V's wedding? I will call her tonight and ask. Need to figure out dress stuff but I'm thinking I should wait until after my surgery...

Toothy!

Posted by Slowplum on 1/05/2005 08:48:00 PM
My daughter just lost her first tooth all on her own! She'd already had to have one pulled by the dentist because her adult tooth was growing in behind it, but this one fell out all on its own! There I was, reading "Ramona and her Father" because we'd finished "Harriet the Spy", and she went to take a sip of water from her water bottle and she started squealing MY TOOTH MY TOOTH MOMMY LOOK LOOK ITS IN THE BOTTLE and she scrambled with her little fingers to get it out.

Then she had to write about it in her journal. Yes she keeps one in a very cool princess box with jewels and everything.

I love it that she gets so excited about it. I wish I were a kid again sometimes.

Happy New Year, I guess.

First time in 8 years that I didn't receive a New Year's Eve kiss. Reasoning? I was up most of the night helping C get sick... Took a cat nap at 11 and didn't wake up until 12:30... meh, oh well

C has been sick on and off the entire night and most of this morning, though SO was kind enough to let me get to bed at around 8 am... woke up a 1/2 hr ago realizing what day it is... holy cat's it's 2005 again. I'm hoping 2005 doesn't provide as much sadness as 2004. But reading the news this morning, no such luck.

Ok time to make her some tea.
